RP Idea Tiem
Aug. 12th, 2007 07:01 pm![[personal profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/silk/identity/user.png)
I've been running this idea past eliyes pretty much non-stop for a day or so, so I figured I'd give her some breathing room and post a little bit of it up here.
I have an idea for an RP. The plot is vaguely similar to The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen in that there are a bunch of literary characters gathering together to fight teh ebil. But only vaguely.
It would revolve around a central figure plucking different adventurers and heroes out of their own times and bringing them to a sort of neutral area where time is non-existant (or, at least, doesn't matter) to fight another entity. This other entity (now-on, "Teh Ebil") is mucking around in time, causing disturbances and generally just being an annoying fuck. It's up to the little group of assembled heroes to slingshot through time and stop him.
The assembled heroes (now-on, "Our Heroes") would then routinely gather when called to fight Teh Ebil. This would mean each storyline would have them being shot to a different timeframe and confronting either Teh Ebil, himself, or one of his henchmen who are out to muck around in the timeline.
Our Heroes would, unlike the League, not be of the super-human persuasion. The stories would be slightly fantasy/scifi, but I'm not sure if I want one of the regular characters to be Superman. This still needs some thought. If there were only one, and it were well- and realistically-played, then I might change my mind about a super-human.
So, what I'm fairly sure about is:
Our Heroes:

Don Diego Vega, el Zorro. Active in 1830s Alta California. Played by me. :3

Sir Percy Blakeney, the Scarlet Pimpernel. Active in 1790s England/France. Played by eliyes. :D

As-of-yet Unnamed Central Figure. Active ??? Moderator-controlled pup.
At least three other main characters, plus support characters for each, would be needed. The group of other main characters would probably have at least one modern-era adventurer and one 1930s/1940s-era adventurer to make things interesting. The support characters would be small pups who interact with the main characters in their own times. For instance, Percy would probably need a Ffoulkes and/or a Lady Blakeney. These would only show up if the timeframe Our Heroes were shot into overlapped with one of their own. They are not regular characters.
Teh Ebil:

Oddly enough, I'm leaning towards making a commonly-held hero into Teh Ebil. Possibly Sherlock Holmes. There's a ton of different ways to do this, so I'm open to suggestions. Don't know who'd play him, but unless someone actively wants him, he'd probably be mod-controlled.
Teh Ebil would have some sort of control over time so that he could pluck Henchmen out of the timeline to do his bidding. There's probably some sort of League of Evil that they'll all a part of, though I shudder to think about how one collects union dues from Grendel's Mother. If the control over time is ingrained (a superpower) or via technology (some sort of infernal machine) is, again, up for debate and suggestion.
Henchmen would be spawned from a single account unless we got someone who wanted to play a "Main Henchmen" that would then be a recurring character.
Some Plotlines I'd Like to See:
-If we go with Holmes as Teh Ebil, I'd like to see why Holmes went evil in the first place. Possibly trying to "fix" time to save Watson? Must investigate further.
-Our Heroes fucking up the timeline and accidently wiping themselves out of the memory of eachother, then having to figure out WTF they're doing.
-The FYOO-CHAR. (Optional guest appearence by Booster Gold's Ass.)
-Having one of Our Heroes turn out to be a double-agent. Always fun, good for teh dramas, and lets a lucky RPer get to play the villain for a bit. Sweet.
Just Something I'd Like To See, In General:
Percy on a motorcycle.
'Nuff said.
So, folks, whaddaya think?

Date: 2007-08-13 02:45 am (UTC)Okay, so, the thing with Holmes is that he might be too smart. I mean, we'd like to have a chance of Our Heroes winning, right? So unless his motives weren't actually Evil so much as, I dunno, antisocial, he might actually be too great a threat.
Obviously, Dig is a better candidate.I like the double agent idea. We are, after all, dealing with men of mystery, cunning, and extreme skills of identity misdirection. It would be completely believable for someone to be forced to work towards Teh Ebil's goals, to be doing so unwittingly (if they haven't figured out the mastermind's identity yet), etc.

Date: 2007-08-13 03:22 am (UTC)Well, there's the thing: If we end up using Holmes, I don't want him to be GRAND EBIL. Possibly being controlled by someone else, or with motives that are known only to him and only appear evil to Our Heroes.
However, if there's another villain, I'd love to play up the Ultimate Evil bit. Because truely evil villains are awesome, too.
Dig would be too busy trying (unsuccessfully) to keep Fred out of his Secret Evil Lair to ever do any damage....I have a picture of Diego in a dress. Surely he was doing it FOR EVILZ.
Wow, those icons look awesome in conjunction
Date: 2007-08-13 04:02 am (UTC)This is true. *gasp* Possibly Holmes actions are all part of a grand scheme to prevent a greater evil from wresting control of the world/timeline/scones. (Moriarty, perhaps?) He may even be working as the heroes adversary in order to maneuver them into doing things which further this goal.
...That would be a bad idea. Even just Percy and Diego are too smart for that to work; they'd realise they were being manipulated and throw a spanner in the works before too long. Hm.
Dig would, of course, argue that Fred is the ultimate evil.I have screencaps of Percy in a dress, as well! Or at least, a skirt and blouse. He's a very ugly old woman.
Re: Alas, I have but one Percy icon
Date: 2007-08-13 04:10 am (UTC)I don't think that, if done right, Our Heroes would see through it. Holmes is, after all, a genius. He'd lay out false leads and things particularly aimed to mislead and confuse. But subtle. Again, this would play into having a double-agent.
Hmm. What if their Contact who brings them all together is Watson? Watson would only have to tell them, "Holmes has gone mad!" and they'd probably believe him. Plus, it would lead to some interesting mission dynamics.
Fred isn't evil. He's just... Fred.Percy, in general, makes for an ugly woman. Tall, broad-shouldered, and MANLY. Ew.
Well, I have none of Diego
Date: 2007-08-13 04:26 am (UTC)He'd have to have put a lot of trouble into planning. But he could, I suppose. He's Holmes.
Which reminds me, I have another candidate to offer: Arsène Lupin, the Gentleman Burglar. He has a monocle.
OOOOH, it should be Watson. Especially if Holmes is involved. Hell, Watson could just tell them Holmes is missing.
Watson would lie for Holmes. You know he would. These people are essentially vigilantes, and some of them aren't even English.
Except that he's not, really. XD Poor guy.Well, yeah. :3 That's why he went for old and scary.
Re: Neither do I. I will settle for Archie.
Date: 2007-08-13 04:35 am (UTC)Lupin as one of Our Heroes, or as the Villain? Because unless he has a laser monocle, I don't see him standing two minutes against Percy and his ._q of Justice.
Watson WOULD lie for him. And has, I think, in the past. Repeatedly. Even to Scotland Yard. Oh dear. XD
Shh. I like my fanon.Percy -- would make a killing on Halloween. :D
Re: Neither do I. I will settle for Archie.
Date: 2007-08-13 05:46 am (UTC)Oh, Watson. <3
Fred: :D!That would be pulling an Oliver Queen, though -- it would totally give him away.
Re: Neither do I. I will settle for Archie.
Date: 2007-08-13 05:54 am (UTC)(Which is a stupid question, because as soon as I say this, eleventy-billion of them will be helo at me...)
*gives him cookies*Well, it IS Percy. I could see him trick-or-treating at Chauvelin's house just to fuck with him, and make him even more paranoid than he already is... XD
*hums about playing dress up*
Date: 2007-08-13 06:02 am (UTC)Fred: Thank you. :3 HAY DIG, WANT SOME COOKIES?! :DMaking Chauvelin paranoid is Percy's revenge for Chauvelin having slept with Marguerite first.
Re: *hums about playing dress up*
Date: 2007-08-13 06:11 am (UTC)Dig: OH GOD HOW DID YOU GET HERE HOW DID I GET HERE WHY....I hate you.
Hats! :D
Date: 2007-08-13 06:17 am (UTC)Fred: The Nazis captured us, remember? :DBecause I'm right.
Hats make everything AWESOME
Date: 2007-08-13 06:26 am (UTC)...there was a point there. It got lost. :(
Dig: *just... explodes into fine Dig-bits*Percy: *has a jealous streak the size of the Channel*
So do lacy shirts. :3
Date: 2007-08-13 06:30 am (UTC)other POWs: *grumble and clean up bits*Percy: EVEN BIGGER! :O *poses outrageously*
Ffoulkes: *nods* Indeed!
Chauvelin: *flees*
