Which reminds me, I have another candidate to offer: Arsène Lupin, the Gentleman Burglar. He has a monocle.
OOOOH, it should be Watson. Especially if Holmes is involved. Hell, Watson could just tell them Holmes is missing.
Watson would lie for Holmes. You know he would. These people are essentially vigilantes, and some of them aren't even English.
Except that he's not, really. XD Poor guy.
