Just lazy.

And, really, life caught up with me and did the traditional mid-summer bitch-slap. It'll pass. Hopefully soon.

So! Things:

-Voodoo came out of the mechanic's with new wiring, a new firewall, and-- GASP --brights that actually work! She hasn't had working brights since we've owned her. :D

-I have plans for ComiCon next year. Updates as they come.

-I still haven't budged on any of the fics. Ah. Sorry. I am made of fail, it seems. I'll get on that this week.

-I saw The Sorcerer's Apprentice. Ahahaha. And awww. Balthazar, be my (cranky, old-man-shoes-wearing) friend.

-Remember that all-female 1776 I'd mentioned?

They have rehearsal pics. )

1776!

Me, Hissy, Mad Engineer, Hissy's Friend Steve*, and my and Hissy's mutual school friend, Spider-girl, all went to see 1776, put on by Musical Theatre West in Long Beach.

"BWEE!" does not even begin to cover it.

The Kiff explains. )

*Note: His name is not really Steve.

1776 will be playing in Long Beach this July.

I am SO there.

Hey, random, feel like roadtripping? You can stay at my place for the night. Bob likes company.

Yes, it IS a dagger you see before you.

Macbeth was playing at the PCPA. Me an' random made the trip down with possibly far too much glee, especially considering how much death we were going to witness in the coming hours.

And boy, was there death. )

Peter Pan

random_redshirt came home last night and brought the filmed, stage version of "Peter Pan" with her.

Itemized list of kiffies' thoughts:

1) That was a LOT of glitter. Metric been-tons, even.

2) Nana is awesome.

3) The pirates are all insane, and Hook is a badass.

4) STARKEY IS KLINGON VALJEAN.

5) I would not want to ever play Peter. Holy crap, you have to be in great shape. So much running and bouncing and leaping. That woman must be a robot. A boingy, boingy robot.

Hey, random!

Are we gonna go see Macbeth? :D ?

Say, isn't it bad luck to say "Macbeth"?

...

Macbeth.

Macbeth.

Macbeth.

Damn. I was hoping he'd come through a mirror or something, like Bloody Mary. *tosses down net in annoyance*

...it has some very brief clips, as well as behind-the-scenes-stuff, of the production of Les Mis me an' random saw. :3

Note Javert and his bright orange shirt. Lulz.

Seeing stuff like this makes me regret not taking stagebuilding in high school. Sadly, Visual Arts and Stage didn't allow for intermingling or cross-attending of classes, else kiffies might have had a different direction in life.

Andrew Philpot, one of the crazy regulars at PCPA (where me an' random go to get out theatre fix), voiced D in Vampire Hunter D.

Ow.

Ow ow ow.

Damnit. I'm going to go see him as Beaver in a few months. THIS WILL BE IN THE BACK OF MY MIND, NOW.

Squee!

So I missed the Terrence Mann concert, but that was because random and I went to go see PCPA's The Music Man, instead.

The musical is not one of my favorites, but random likes it a lot. And it was mostly the same cast as Les Miserables, so it was freaking awesome. I haven't laughed so hard in a long time.

Though, I do wonder where all the food kept coming from. I think the cast was kept well-fed simply by mooching off of whatever Marcellus had nicked from backstage. (Hot dog bun, wtf.)

Last night, [livejournal.com profile] random_redshirt and I went to go see Les Miserables, put on by the PCPA Theaterfest, in Santa Maria.

What the kiff thought. )

One, I spent most of the evening horribly depressed. It was amazing.

And two, "I'll spit his pity right back in his face!" really should never get quite the laugh that it did tonight. (I'm not saying that I wasn't taking part in the laughing, mind you.)
