I will PM you with my address. The senate passed the "get the postal service back to work" legislation, and it received royal assent, this weekend. Supposedly mail will start moving again Tuesday (although Union officials' lawyers are examining it carefully for loopholes, and nothing that caused the strike has been resolved), which will mean that what's already backpiled will move first, I imagine. Over here there's been "OUT OF SERVICE" tape blocking all the mail dropboxes in the city, and I heard last week that the US Postal Service wasn't (at that time) accepting any more mail meant to go to Canada because they'd run out of room to store it.
What I'm saying is, no hurry. X3 The system will take some time to get running smoothly again, I'd imagine.
(Gives you time to make da kitty's body darker and do whatever else you plan to do. Man I love that airship~~~ )
So, even though the mail will be moving again, the actual issues are still there and the whole thing could start up again before the backlog is even cleared? Wonderful.
I wonder -- has FedEx or DHL been picking up the slack? Because, if the strike is only affecting the government mail, I might be able to send it through a (shudder) private firm.
Also! Are there any other changes you want done, aside from darkening the kittyfur? If so, let me know now. I'm not too good with recognizing when colors don't work (more of a strict b&w lineart person, really), so feel free to tell me what to do! :3

Nope! Just the body-colour fur darkened. Hell, you could leave everything else uncovered and I would be happy with that. X3 But if you're already colouring it, that's cool, too. (I love that her little case is green. I don't know why I do, but I do!)
Onto postal stuff!
See, what you have to realise is that Canada Post? Not actually a federal service anymore. It's a private corporation, and has been for some time, and that means they've made some changes they probably wouldn't have if they were still govenment owned, like reducing worker benefits, introducing new technologies and policies and basically making it no fun at all to be a postla worker. 7 (or maybe 8, now) months ago, the postal union went into "we might strike" negotiations with the company. They couldn't come to an agreement, so to postal workers went on strike, but they did rolling strikes in the big cities, so that there'd be three days without service and then service would resume (until the next pass), while they reduced services in less dense areas. This lead to reduced mail service country-wide, but no stoppage.
So the company locked them out.
I believe this was to force the government to intercede, frankly. We have FedEx and Purolator and a number of other specialty, express, or local courier services, but none of them have the infrastructure to really pick up the slack, since the infrastructure is from when this was all government run and is therefore ubiquitous. The government has interceded because the stoppage is affecting Canada's economy, and the party for the legislation claims that no no no this will not effect how the government deals with other unions, or even this one, in the furture, which, yeah right.
So the strikers and the people who locked them out are all having to work together again, and not one issue that started all this has been in any way resolved. That is my understanding of things.
As for the kitteh: I haven't done anything to the picture since it was scanned. (I was waiting on your reply.) If you want it black-and-white, that's fine. If you want it wild, rainbow hippie colors, that's fine, too. It's whatever you prefer. My original plan was to color it all in and have various postcards and travel stickers scattered in the background, behind the two panels -- but, y'know, since we have the tubes and can communicate, and since it is your picture (and your money), it is up to you. :3
However, I did try to darken the fur last night -- as the original color was a red-green mix (a very dark brown, with more red than green), adding extra coats to the original made it almost chocolate in color, and quite vibrant. It's darker, certainly, but you see more of the brown in the coat than before. I don't know if this is the direction you wanted with her, as you said her fur was a very dark brown, but bordering closer to black.
These are transparent watercolors. Adding any sort of light wash over the extant color will dissolve the current color. Further, adding black over brown makes it... ah... unpleasant. Any time I change the color, I have to repaint the whole cat.
I take it you want her to be more black than brown? I can re-mix my brown to get it closer to black, but it will always carry a slight red tinge -- the only other option is using the standard black, which is closer to the black of the linework.
EDIT: When I get home, I can re-scan the image, to let you see what the current color looks like, and you can tell me if it's suitable or not. (I'm currently at school, and will be until late tonight.)
Hm. I do want her really dark, but I don't want you to have to repaint her. Show me the scan, we'll go from there? (I'll be back in 13 hours. *goes off to work with a stack of library books to read*)
