Mmm, bacon.

It is so delicious. I had many.

Thankfully, however, I do not subscribe to my mom's bacon-cooking method: "I opened the bag, now I have to cook it all!"

Not that me or my dad ever complain. :9

Hunh... I have that same bacon-cooking method... eeeeerie. :D

I have a really, really awful (and very delicious) recipe for bacon-making that's designed to stop your heart.

Clearly, it is a good method. :9

:o ? Do tell.

It is! A package of bacon has to be cooked and eaten all at ONCE!

The following recipe is stolen shamelessly. It's the closest I could find because what I should have said was that I knew of an awful (very delicious) recipe. :D

Candied Bacon

* 1 pound thick sliced bacon, good quality
* 1/2 cup maple syrup (your choice)
* 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
* Finely ground black pepper

Directions:

Preheat oven to 400 degrees F.

Line a rimmed baking sheet with heavy foil. Place a baking rack over the lined sheet tray and arrange the bacon slices across the rack next to each other, not overlapping.

In a small bowl, whisk the maple syrup and mustard. Generously spoon over the top of the bacon, and bake 12 to 15 minutes. Turn the bacon over and baste with syrup mixture. Bake an additional 5 to 10 minutes, or until the bacon has reached desired crispiness.

Carefully remove the pan from the oven. Sprinkle hot bacon with a scant pinch of finely ground black pepper. Let the bacon rest on the rack for 5 minutes.

I... have no idea what this could possibly taste like, but gosh darn it, I am INTRIGUED.

Clearly, I must find some way to attempt this.

For science.

And heart problems.
