Is that the one with Patti Lupone? God, I hate her...

That would be the one, yes.

Although I think she was also in the original London cast, as well.

*curious meep* ...why do you dislike her?

I just can't stand her voice, and her forced vibrato (the one she makes by nodding her head) makes me shudder! (Though, it seems like she's stopped doing that so much now.)

Honestly, I'm slightly tone deaf and can't hear half the faults people find in singers'... singing... thingy. That made sense in my head. v(._.)v

What has she been in since? (I'm lazy and don't want to go to ibdb.com)

LOL
They say that those who are trained in singing can never truly enjoy a musical/opera the same way others do because they're so attuned to analyzing and criticizing what they hear. I know that's true for me! (Partially why I'm SO pleased that trained singers were not used [mostly] in the Sweeney Todd movie!)
Anyway, in 2001 Patti Lupone played Mrs. Lovett in a concert production of Sweeney Todd in San Francisco. I found it on YouTube. Here's the link:
http://www.youtube.com/view_play_list?p=014A71FBEBCF0BAC The woman who plays Johanna here also played Christine in the first production of Phantom of the Opera that I ever saw when I was 11 years old, which inspired me to sing ^_^

Not according to the liner notes. Randy Graff is the one playing Fantine.
