It was alfalfa, so it was... actually, really sweet.
Which was the point. It was a hay evaluation lab, and one of the requirements for good quality alfalfa is that it tastes sweet.
There was logic to his madness.

kiffies are not bunnies.
Which is unfortunate, as this was some good quality hay. I think a bunny may have appreciated it more*. :3
*kiffie!note: never feed alfalfa to rabbits. They get enteroliths. Timothy is better. And, depending on where you live, cheaper. :D

Kiffies are cute like bunnies?
Oh, Gromit only gets timothy hay. With marigolds! :) His Fuzziness is King of the House, but he graciously allows us to live with him here.
