I've just come into some considerable (for me) money, but I'm a bit at a loss on how to spend it. I might get a bit more come Christmas, but really, it's practically burning a hole in my pocket as it is. I've had some wants (and needs) for a while, and it's like someone just offered me everything on a platter. 8D

Things I Need:
-New windshield for Voodoo
-A new stove
-Jeeves' muffler and pipes installed (he's still wearing his drainpipe cast)

Things I Want:
-The Scarlet Pimpernel: German Highlights Album
-The Scarlet Pimpernel Songbook
-USB Owl -- I would name him "Hollis." :3
-A frock coat
-A skull for Bob
-A record player that works, damnit B|

So, as you can see, the choices are making me crazy. Obviously, the things I need are fairly big and expensive and would mean putting the money I have now into savings until later, but the other stuff I could just get now, if I so chose. We've been needing a new stove for a while, but it's been put aside in favor of other things -- the washer broke, the fridge died entirely, etc.

I'll probably still have this money in a few months, all because I have no idea what to do with it. *sigh*

Obviously, take care of your needs first. (Baby wants a new pair of shoes! Voodoo's been waiting on that windshield, frex.)

When it comes to the record player, definitely shop around before you commit. You will probably end up buying used, seeing as new record players are pretty thin on the ground these days, so make sure you test before buying! :O

This is true. Though Voodoo's windshield can be handled for a little while longer... *looks at the other two items* Jeeves, then the stove? X3

Thing is, I have a record player. But the belt is broken. My mom had bought me a cheap, $20 one, but it doesn't play 78s or any of my old, wobbly 33s. :(

Or the stove, and then Jeeves? Depends on how broken the current stove is.

How much would it cost to get the one you have fixed, I wonder? :/ Probably better to get a whole new-to-you one.

The oven of the stove is totally dead and the gas line bypassed to the burners, of which only three work, and only two of those retain their electric starter. It works as a stove, but not as an oven.

You know, if Jeeves is still actually running, I vote you let him rock his bohemian prosthetic look a little longer and get a stone/oven first.

It's currently even worse than before.

This morning, I discovered that the air intake vents near his windshield had flooded and that driving forced the water through the driver-side vent and into the dash. Once the fusebox flooded, Jeeves pretty much said, "Fuck this" and made me pull over by making the "JESUS, I'M ON FIRE" smell, despite there not actually being any fire. After we IDed the problem and emptied the vent of water (via syringe), I went off and bought some magnetic vent covers of the type typically used to seal off heater vents in homes. Jeeves is now sporting one over each vent to prevent rainwater collection. It looks horribly hilarious.
