Thing is, I'm guessing that the bugs they were finding in the feed were likely either flour moths (which you tend to find in cereal grains), or "seed bugs," the small, black click beetle-looking things that turn up at the bottom of bird cages. Either way, unlikely contenders for cat illness. There are bugs that get into cattle feed that will kill a cow, but I'm unfamiliar with any that do this to domestic pets.
Which, all in all, makes this more frightening.
As for the winds... Yep. Lots of Hulk smashing, but, blessedly, very little damage on my end. Some of the cars parked down by the hospital, however...
