Gone, For Now
Sep. 16th, 2009 08:13 pmJust got off the phone with my dad. A lady came by last week and stripped all of the wallpaper off of my Gramma's house.
My aunt felt that wallpaper would hurt the selling value. Everything was removed. Mind that the entire house had been papered. There were no bare walls.
Now? Gone.
I don't think I'll be able to go inside anymore. I could deal with all of the furniture removed (I have some of it here, as a matter of fact), with the old phone torn from the wall, even with all of the photos taken down from their places. But the wallpaper was the one thing that made that place.
It's completely silly, I know.
My dad did manage to find samples of paper from nearly every room in the house. The state seals from the lower hallway, the flowers from the lower bedroom, the Victorian blues from the front hall. The Independence paper from the upstairs bathroom is completely lost, however.
I'm going to have them all scanned.
Someday, I want them in my house.
