It's Raining
Feb. 26th, 2007 11:37 pmAnd it's cold.
I just got done ironing some of my pants and my green jacket. If I'd known it would rain, I don't think I would have bothered. But it did help me relax. That's one plus to it.
I was sitting back today, reading a book that I'm supposed to give a presentation on come Friday. It's called "China Men" and is a collection of short stories, all about the author's family and their journies to and from America. I kept reading, kept thinking about how easy it was to just get a job a hundred years ago with little or no initial skill, learning everything you need to know on the fly and getting proficient in very little time. You could make a living with a job.
A job, not a career like they steer everyone into now. It's not a job anymore. It's a career.
Sometimes I want nothing more than to move to the middle of nowhere and try to eke out a living.
I tried to find Ambrose on Google Maps.
It's not there anymore.
So much for dreams.
