As Squeeky's crate is currently being quarantined for fear of wormies (probably some form of wee centipede), we have nowhere to put him. Mom has volunteered all-night kitten duty to watch him.
I'd like to say that the only thing she has to fear is that he might get into some wiring. But no. Speckles' attitude towards her little "brother" has been less than stellar. Growling, hissing, and in one instance, backing him into a corner. There has yet to be actual hitting, though, so maybe it's just posturing. Still, with a kitten this young, there can't be any 'maybes'.
Mousie is tolerating him reasonably well. As long as she doesn't see him, she's fine with it. It's her general attitude that she gives to any of the critters we own -- go ahead and keep it, but keep it out of my way.
I hope that, once Squeeky is large enough to defend himself, the bad vibes lessen some.
