Bad shit always happens in groups.
There's no housing left at Cal Poly SLO, we're flat broke, and now Jackie might be sick.
Last night, I went in to check on everyone, and for some reason I decided to just stare at Jackie. I normally don't do this. She's not socialized, very uppity, and staring makes her uncomfortable. But it's probably better that I did. She looked horrible. Her head was drawn into her body, all of her feathers were poofed out, and she was panting. I thought it might just be the fact that I'd just then turned on the light, so I left her alone for ten minutes, and came back. She looked a lot better, but still had that look of "ill" all over her face.
I still don't know if she is sick or not. She's bright and responsive to Hubert (currently trying his luck at woo for the day), but every so often I'll see her panting.
The next apointment that the vet's had open was at 3. So at 2, I'm going to have to find some way to distract Hubert so I can nab Jackie and stick her in the travel cage. If I do it wrong, well... Hubert's a hell of a lot more brave than most people give him credit for. And I like my fingers, thank you very much.
Nnng.
Better be nothing. >_>
