kiffieA note to my Ethnic Studies teacher, She-Who-Has-The-Ridiculously-Long-Hyphenated-Name:
Asking a Kiffies to write a paper is fine.
Asking a Kiffies to write a paper exploring the relations of race, class, and gender is slightly less tolerable, but still within reason.
Asking a Kiffies to write a paper on the above subject using notes she took of a crowd of people by being ninja?
That's asking for trouble.
See, Kiffies can't make conclusions on things like that. I just can't. I look at a crowd of people and I see... a crowd. No more. No less. I see a couple with a child. That's exactly what my mind sees. It doesn't see some underlying shit involving race or socio-economic status or that the man is clearly her gay-friend-who-is-helping-raise-the-kid-because-the-babydaddy-ran-off. Who the hell sees this kind of crap when they look at people?
So Kiffies writing a paper on this sort of thing will, and does, involve a hell of a lot of bullshitting.
