It's a tool used for stripping layers from oocytes. :3
We're getting to play with embryos, see, and that means there's lots of teeny tools with silly names (because scientists are strange).
And, before you ask, no, not human embryos. Typically, mice. Or cattle. Our school has a large AI program for its cattle herd.

Yep! We get to make many little, teeny cow-lets, that we them implant into proper-sized cows, to make slightly larger cow-lets. :D
