"Get random to Europe" Fund
My roomie, the awesome and spiff-tacular
random_redshirt, is going to Europe this summer as part of a school trip. As you can probably guess, what with the Euro continually kicking the Dollar in the face, this is going to cost a bit of money.
Me an' random put our brainmeats together, trying to come up with a way to earn some delicious, delicious cash that wouldn't end with us A) in jail, or B) breaking the space-time continuum, and we eventually came to the realization that kiffies can kinda-sorta draw and that this should clearly be capitalized upon.
So-- I offer doodles in exchange forthe house to myself for a month help sending my most awesome roomie across the sea.
$5 - sketch.
$10 - inked picture.
$15 - painted window mascot.
$20 - colored (painted) picture.
To see more examples of my art, click on the "art" tag on this entry. Note that art meme sketches are f-locked.
All pictures are on 8x10 Bristol (workable area), while window mascots are approx. 5x5.
As this is being done for money, and not simply a request meme, I can't do copyrighted characters. Unless you own the copyright, then, by all means, commission away.
I don't require reference pics if you provide a good enough text description, but they are helpful, especially with pets or characters with specific armor or clothing.
I will need your mailing address so I can send the finished doodle, unless you either don't want the actual, physical doodle, or are hiding from an evil wizard -- then I can provide a fairly nice scan. Window mascots, as they are tape-laminated on Bristol, will need to be mailed.
And, in regards to payment: Once your doodle is done, I'll PM you and send you mailbox details. I take personal checks and other forms of mailable currency. Don't mail cash (it ends badly, especially over the American/Canadian border). All of what I make here goes to random -- it's easier if I cut her one, large check, rather than her trying to put multiple, small checks towards her Europe fund, so the checks get made out to me rather than her.
Any takers?

I'd love a painted window mascot. That would be totally of the awesome.
I collect winged lions. As in Big Kittehs with Wings. :-) Real lifelike or doodly or colorful cartoony is fine. Whatever strikes you. :D

Should it be facing right, or left?

So, mebbe a winged lion facing left and one facing right? (So technically, 2 commissions.)
I blame the winged lions on King Moonracer.

Oooh, me, too! I'd also love a painted window mascot.
Ummm... how about Celtic knots, like a whole bunch of 'em forming one BIG knot.
*snicker*
Kidding. I know how you love Celtic knots. ;) I shall have to think on it for a little bit and get back to you, if you don't mind. Too bad The Dresden Files and The Chronicles of Narnia are not mine!

The downside to copyright, I'm afraid. :(
I shall be here when you decide. :3

Oh, hey! I have an idea. :D My daughter *loves* owls and I'm thinking you're pretty good at them. And if I get one made for her (they love putting things in their windows), I'll need to get one for my son. He loves cars.
Are owls and cars up your alley?? :)

Though, what kind of car? I can do pretty much anything, though I have a bit more skill in classics than modern.

Well, I know one thing. I'd like an inked sketch of Voodoo. (True-to-life or cartooneh: your choice!)
But I also want more and I can't decide what. :(

I like the window mascots-I'm a little slow today, they adhere to the inside of the window, like cling stuff, right? idk ;~;
If that's the case, I'd love one ^^

And they do adhere to the inside of the window, but with packing tape, or whatever you think will work best with your own car's window. I used Scotch Tape for mine, and that seemed to work quite well. They're just laminated cardstock, really.

Should I pm you a description?

Give me a couple of days and I might be able to contribute something to this fund. :)
Almost called you today to see if you were still alive. ^_^;
