Frankie, somehow, decided the hat was EVIL and had to be STOPPED.

He'd been flaring at it, non-stop, all evening. When I finally did move the hat to where he couldn't see it, he sank down to the gravel and POUTED.

Come to think of it, if you want to go the uber-route, PetCo has frequently put their 10 gallon Starter Kits on sale for $30 flat. I know it's on sale here, locally, so I'd assume it either is, or will be, on sale nationwide. It comes with a filter, hood, and two lights. Aside from having to cut the filter-setting yourself, it really is a good "set up right out of the box" kit.

PetCo has started carrying Kings (1/4 giants), plakats (wild-type), and half-moons. I even saw a very young mustard gas half-moon male at my local PetCo. He was beautiful. I only wish I could have another fish; I would have bought him.

PetsMart has also gotten in some nice types, but not nearly to the same extent as PetCo. I know they have a good selection of crowntails and some deltas, but hardly the same color selection.
