Car Update

I have a rental!

Other Guy's insurance is paying for a rental, so I now have a brand-new, ugly-as-sin Mazda in my parking spot. It drives like a squirrel on crack, turns like a light-cycle, and stops far too hard. I like it. :3

There's one major thing that bothers me, though:

Mazdas have little, teeny-tiny steering wheels. Oh god, it's like driving a bumper car. And I say this having spent years with Voodoo having the World's Teeniest Steering Wheel*. Who could possibly find this comfortable? How am I supposed to turn this thing? D:

*Voodoo now has a stock wheel, after her last one broke in two. Whoops.

Hey you leave Mazdas alone <( ._.)>

*has a mazda 3*

This is also a Mazda 3.

TEENY STEERING WHEEL OF TEENINESS

I actually asked the Rental Guy for a Mazda. My dad had one when I was growing up that was really damn awesome. I will note that this is the only car company I've yet found that has kept the same driving characteristics over 20 years worth of cars. The rental car drives pretty much the same as my dad's old Z, light-cycling and all. :D

I like my car 'cause it's so peppy. :3

zoom zoom, etc etc.

He's a really solid little car. With a huge ass. Mazdas have tons of room somehow.

XD I LOVE YOU BOTH AND YOUR MAZDAS TOO!

Mazdas themselves are teeny-tiny! You're right, it's like driving a bumper car. I prefer climbing UP into my Yukon vs. crouching DOWN into cute little cars. :D

Perhaps I have understated how wee Voodoo is. :3

I'm the other way around, actually. Large cars scare me. I'm always afraid I'll hit something or run into something and not know. I like Voodoo because her nose is on level with an adult's knees -- I always see pedestrians.

Every once in a while I feel a *bump bump* and wonder, "Animal, vegetable, or mineral?" Then I shrug and continue on--with a mental note to check the front grill later... lol.

(Teasin')

Wee Voodoo is very sweet. :D

I remember seeing an otherwise clean and shiny Bugatti that had a nearly foot long dragonfly stuck in its grille. It was absolutely hilarious. (Not that the bug had died, of course, but that the obviously proud owner hadn't cared to scrape it off.)

She is a very good car. I will always love Ghias (and their Bug cousins) because of this little rustbucket. :3

My hubby's work truck came home with a bird totally wing-spread splatted on the grill once. I was like, um, didn't you notice that? (Not funny, either, that the bird died, but it was an omg/silly moment.)

Said hubby is 6' 7"... so... little cars don't fit him much. :) Your Ghia is totally cute.

Voodoo: *makes "aw, shucks!" motions and paws at the dirt with one wheel* X3
