Ladies and gentlebeens, may I present...

...Frankie.

Frankie.

Frankie.

Frankie is my test fish for the behavioral modification section of Companion Animal. I'm going to be teaching him to come to the surface for food when I tap on the glass.

I've wanted a fish for a while, and this just gave me an excuse to finally go and get one. Frankie is currently in my room, but once he's settled in and used to his new tank, I may move him to the living room so random can also enjoy his fishy fishiness. :3

HOOT :3

Bettas are great, we had one we got unexpectedly when someone gave my mom one of those vase setups for some reason I don't remember. He eventually got moved to an actual tank and he was a neat fish, although we quickly figured out he was not one of those rare bettas that can have tankmates. :|

Ouch. Yeah, most males are pushy and aggressive. It's too bad, because they're such awesome fish that it would be neat if they could have friends. :/

Yeah. Supposedly some can get along with armored bottom feeders and "odd thingies" like shrimp or snails; I want to say we tried dwarf frogs with him, which he didn't actively kill but I think he stressed them or ate all the food or something, cause they weren't around as long as they could have been. (But then my mom and sister are not the most...in-depth of pet owners beyond bare fish store basics, so I can't say how well the tank was maintained for frogs either.)
