Grr

You know, I don't mind that most car ads on the internet seem to completely ignore all spelling and grammar rules. Or that they abuse the exclaimation point. Or that they really don't know what they're talking about half the time.

But, really.

It's not "Volkswagon."

I swear it isn't.

And with a beautiful old Bug, which you've obviously owned for a while? You should know better. There's no excuse for not getting that right. Especially when it's written on the deck of the car you're trying to sell.

Dude, even if you don't know how to spell it, how about double checking so you look less like a stupid ass? It's so easy to just type it into Google, and Google will correct your spelling. This isn't IMing, so put some effort into your online ads before you publish them to the world!! (this happens in personal ads all the time)

What's worse, though -- the people who write the ads, or the people who reply to the obviously butchered English and think nothing of it?

As far as personal ads go? The people responding, I think.
I mean, tiepoes on teh interwebz is one thing, but when it occurs multiple times in the same public ad (usually on pretty simple words and grammatical rules, too) where one would hopefully try to put his best face forward, that's just a sign of someone either uneducated, or completely negligent or both.

Guys who make typos on simple words, lack simple punctuation, and use "u" really irritate me. Like this guy:
http://dating.personals.yahoo.com/profile?cmd=view&adid=personals-1166564864-322266&src=wvm&done=http%3A%2F%2Fpersonals.yahoo.com%2Fwvm%2Flist%3Fpagenum%3D1
(he looks like a douche, too)
And then there's guys who just can't capitalize "I" or the word that begins the new sentence because they're too fucking lazy to hit the shift key, like this guy:
http://dating.personals.yahoo.com/profile?cmd=view&src=mbm&adid=personals-1215643782-851372&searchname=My+First+Search&ss=1&m=23
(He's also "mostely...looking for some one who can at the least cary out interesting and intelegent conversations. i have difficulty finding women who can do both.")
And then there's guys who manage to achieve all three AND sound like a complete jackass' douche bag, like this:
http://dating.personals.yahoo.com/profile;_ylt=ArTdbFHB2XuePRVQClm8IxplLc0F?cmd=view&src=search&searchinternal=1&adid=personals-1168681880-769331&position=7&total=352&searchmode=1&searchname=My%20First%20Search

Seriously, any woman who answers these ads for real will get exactly what she deserves (but I'm going to guess that she actually isn't much better than these fucknuts.)

AOL speak has no place in a formal advertisement.

But then, most people seem to forget that these are, in fact, formal adverts. B|

*shakes head* People are getting dumber. They must be.
