This is true. *gasp* Possibly Holmes actions are all part of a grand scheme to prevent a greater evil from wresting control of the world/timeline/scones. (Moriarty, perhaps?) He may even be working as the heroes adversary in order to maneuver them into doing things which further this goal.
...That would be a bad idea. Even just Percy and Diego are too smart for that to work; they'd realise they were being manipulated and throw a spanner in the works before too long. Hm.
