I went off, bought some stuff at Kohl's, and got Sucker a new tank and filter.

Sucker won't be coming back with me, it seems. Mom is much too worried that he wouldn't make the trip, and even if he did, that some drunk college student would do something to hurt him. Can't say I fault her logic. There are some damn stupid kids at that school.

So now Sucker's got a ten gallon all to himself. We'll put him in tomorrow.

Also!

Gramma gave me a signed photo of DeForest Kelly, along with a few others. I think it deserves to be taped mercilessly up on my wall. :3

My roommate likes to tell the horror story of the campus res floor don who had an enormous tank of expensive tropical fish in her room. She went away for a lng weekend, and someone poured a bottle of whiskey in the tank, killing thousands of dollars worth of fish.

Leave Sucker at home.

Also, regardless of actual personality of the individual in question -- who the hell names their kid "deforest"? Were their other kids "Clearcut" and "Urban-Sprawl"?

I do so love it when people make lovely icons and then say I can use them! :3

I wish Sucker great prosperity and safety, but you really should leave him home. If nothing else because people who are otherwise perfectly sensible might be inclined to sheer stupidity when inebriated.
