Because, some days, "Fuck you, I'm a bird!" is the best response.

Will begin working on cyloran's kitties after a brief trip to LA during the midweek. :3

I need to get random to watch this. She still hasn't seen it, and I think it's a great popcorn movie. :3

Nearly every review I have seen for The Avengers has, thus far, been positive.

It doesn't premiere here until mid next week.

I just found out that someone had gotten video footage of the comic shop I used to visit, when I was wee. You know, the one I always talk about. The one I practically grew up in, every Thursday afternoon.

I'm having a hard time watching it.

It's strange, to miss a place so badly.

Two Things

First, the silly thing.

Evidently, IDW will be publishing a Doctor Who/Star Trek crossover? I... what?

I wonder if this will force David Tennant to actually read a Star Trek comic. >:3

Secondly, the schmoopy thing.

I guess I've never said it, and possibly because of all of the idiotic heart-shaped crap that's floating around this weekend due to The Holiday That Shall Not Be Named, but:

I love every single one of you.

Wait, no, not like that, you weirdos.

But, you know. You're all awesome. And I just felt I had to say it. <3

So very excited. :D :D :D

Still a little annoyed about Steve lacking the wings on his cowl; this version looks fine from the side, but looks... off... from the front. :/

1) School is eating me alive. With only 1 1/2 quarters left in my college career, this is getting ridiculous and stressful.

2) Hermes is doing well, and is at least giving me something to look forward to when I get home.

3) Comics are one of the few things keeping me sane, lately. Just picked up Winter Soldier, and I like it a lot. The news that DC is releasing a Watchmen prequel... not so much.

4) Pretty sure I splattered some form of horrid bacterial soup on my pants, today. That stain will be interesting to explain.

Made for an RP journal, but I like it enough that I think I'll use it here, too*.

Cropped from Invaders: NOW! #1.

*Because, chances are, I'll never have time to really use it for RP, anyway.
kiffie: Star Trek's Enterprise-D. (Dan) embarrass yourself, before someone else does it?

I was talking to [ profile] random_redshirt a little while ago about how I never log into Facebook. We got on the topic that I hadn't changed my profile picture in over four years. I made a crack that at least it wasn't still me dressed like a superhero. She gave me a curious look, and then I sat back and thought... had it ever been? Facebook must have come after that!

I care so little about Facebook that I guess I'd never gotten around to uploading what is both the stupidest and most awesome picture of me, ever. (Awesome because it's so stupid, it comes right back around, see.) So, I might as well put it here.

High school-aged kiff made bad decisions. )

So. My nerd membership is secure, I think.

Does anyone on my flist own any of the 70th Anniversary Specials that Marvel released back in 2009?

I'm tossing around the idea of getting the hardcover collection that features the whole lot of them, but am unsure if the majority are good. I already own both the Sub-Mariner and All-Winners Squad issues (both were fantastic, btw), but have heard mixed reviews on the others. Honestly, I'd really just be buying it for the Human Torch story-- the previews I've seen* make me WANT like nothing else --but wouldn't mind having the other stories if they were good.

Otherwise, I may make a trip over to Mile High Comics and just get the single Torch issue. Seems a waste to mail away for one comic, though. Any recommendations on other, possibly unrelated, books I may like, in case I go that route?

*Wherein we also learn that Jim likes the Yankees. Someone needs to write conversation between Jim and Steve re: their respective favorite teams. *cackles*

I went home this weekend. Which means I had access to my main comics stash.

Several coughing fits (and spider webs) later, I emerged victorious! I found most of my H4H run and a good chunk of my Avengers run, along with some odds-and-ends Captain America books and a few old Invaders books.

But-- and an eliyes may want to pay attention here --I also found that issue of She Hulk I'd mentioned. Y'know, the one with time travel hijinks?

So, for you, ely, I bring scans:

Under here! )

And, just because I could, I also scanned some Jim scenes from Heroes for Hire. These may only appeal to me, but I'll include them here, anyway.

Jim! )

Now I go off to spend the rest of my night doing homework and fretting about the coming week of schooling. You know, just business as usual.

What if...

Not sure if want.

First off, still not dead. But certainly feeling the OH GOD WHY pull of school.

Secondly, am slowly (very, very slowly) getting test-sketches done for the final bit of art I owe, to taichara. I have to balance that within what little free time I have, though, so it's moving like molasses. Boo.

I deeply want this poster. I have no idea where I would put it, nor if I can really justify that sort of an expense ATM, but you have no idea of the levels of DO WANT that are currently circulating in my system.

Also, ed may be interested in this badass poster right here. Fuck yeah.

And then breakdance!

ONTD has collected some spoilerific pictures from the set of The Avengers, for the curious.

They are very silly and likely need to be captioned. For justice.

You know, it's weird. Ten years ago, I had totally pegged the Justice League to have been the super-team to get a movie, first. The Avengers always seemed a bit of a pipe dream -- Thor, alone, seemed impossible to cast, much less to have any sort of believable presence on camera. And yet, there he is -- along with the rest of the team.

I'm not sure if I should be excited, or skeptical; this is a Wheadon thing. But he's only got an hour and a half to fuck things up, so hopefully it won't utterly rip my heart out and stomp on it.
